Abstract

Nearpod, a web-based interactive learning tool, has been widely used in the field of education in Indonesia. This study aims to explore the strategies implemented by teacher in the use of Neadpod and students' perceptions of its implementation at SMAN 85 Jakarta. The qualitative case study was conducted from March to May 2023 at the school's location. Data collection involved direct observation of classroom activities, interviews with students and the English teacher, and documentation. The results revealed that teachers utilized Nearpod in six different approaches: explaining material, fostering discussions, conducting quizzes and games, facilitating interactive learning, conducting live formative assessments, and utilizing pre-made resources. It is also found that students' perceptions are varied, with some finding Nearpod easy to use and beneficial for learning English, while others faced challenges due to unfamiliarity or technical limitations. Despite this, Nearpod's interactive features were generally perceived positively, enhancing student motivation and achievement in English language learning.
