THE FACTORS WORSENING THE WHITE’S DISCRIMINATION AND STEREOTYPE TOWARD BRIANNA’ LIFE AS A BLACK GIRL IN ANGIE THOMAS’ NOVEL ON THE COME UP

Abstract

This thesis aim to know the reasons for white people treat negatively    toward Briana‘s family as the black people,  to know the effects of white stereotype toward Brianna‘s life. The researcher used qualitative research in this research. There are two sources of data used to analyze the relate issues, namely  primary  and  secondary  data  sources.  Primary data sources from the  Angie Thomas novel  and other sources such as international journals, websites, previous research, and other articles. From the researchers’ analysis, there are two conclusions. First, Brianna was discriminated because she was black, and came from lower class family. The second is her father‘s murdered gave a bad impact toward Brianna‘s discrimination and stereotype.
