THE EXPLORATION ON ESTELLA’S FASHION STYLE, WAYS OF SPEAKING, AND HER DOUBLE PERSONALITY IN DISNEY FILMS, CRUELLA

Abstract

The topic of this research is the exploration of Estella’s fashion style, ways of speaking, and her double personality in Disney films, Cruella 2021. More specifically, this research will answer the two problems found in this film, namely, how are Estella’s fashion styles and ways of speaking performed in the movie? And, how do we understand the double personality of Estella reflected in the movie? The purpose of this study is to tell the readers about multiple personalities, about analyzing conversations where sometimes a conversation contains something implied, And also to understand the language of clothing where an appearance can give us some personal information about the person wearing that clothes. The research applied some tools of analysis that developed in the study of literary theory such as the semiotic approach and linguistic approach, especially, symbols and conversational analysis. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The result of this research brings two contributions namely theoretically and practically. Theoretically, is to provide an understanding of a person's personality, analyze conversations where sometimes a conversation contains something implied, and understand the language of clothing. Practically, the results of this research are expected to be put into practice in life, because when we understand someone's personality by seeing someone's clothes and we can adjust how we behave, and also we can know how doing a good conversation.
