ANALYSIS OF COMPARISON MAJAS USAGE IN FOOTBAL NEWS ARTICLE OF DETIK.COM SITE

Abstract

This research was aimed at studying the use of majas in the collection of football news articles in detik.com. This was a qualitative research which applied descriptive method. The data of the research was the football news articles in detik.com . The sources of the data were from primary data and secondary one. The data analysis involved some steps which were: (1) identifying the use of majas, (2) classifying the type of majas used, (3) describing the excerption of majas used, . The result of the research showed that there were three kinds of majas used in the football news articles in detik.com which were metaphors,personification, and synecdoche. The metaphor was used dominantly. Hence, it was concluded that metaphor was the most dominant majas used in the football news articles in detik.com
