RELIGIUSITAS DALAM CERITA PENDEK AHMAD MUSTOFA BISRI

Abstract

Religiosity is different from religion, in other words, people’s religious attitude or religious belief can be different from each other though they believe in the same religion. Literary works, especially short stories can describe the religiosity of the author, in the context of biographical historical literary criticism or criticism that emphasizes the close relationship between literary authors and their work. This study aims to examine the religiosity of Ahmad Mustofa Bisri in his short stories. This research that used qualitative descriptive method finds that Ahmad Mustofa Bisri's religiosity  belongs to the category of religious attitude which is reflected in the characters of his short stories, namely inclusive and rational in which he thinks that religion must be applied to solve community problems and build a civilized society. Suggestion for further research is research on the theme of Sufism which often appears in some of his short stories.
